Mid North Coast Taree - Outreach Legal Clinic
The Legal Clinic in Taree is an outreach service which was created by Legal Aid NSW through its Cooperative Legal Service Delivery Program to provide the Mid North Coast with free legal advice to low-income families or individuals who are disadvantaged and cannot afford legal advice. The Legal clinic is run every Thursday out of Manning Support Services.
The clinic is run on a four week rotation with two legal services providing free legal advice to residents of Taree and its outlaying areas.
Mid North Coast Community Legal Centre (MNC CLC) – Civil Law MNC CLC solicitors attend the clinic twice a month to provide civil law advice which may include:
- Centrelink
- Fines
Credit and Debt
- Discrimination
Consumer issues
- Mortgage
AVOs
- Loans
Traffic offences
- Mortgage
- Neighbour issues
Walker Legal & Conveyancing – Criminal and Family Law
 Walker Legal attends the clinic twice a month to provide advice on matters concerning criminal and family law which may include driving offences including driving under the influence, property settlements, ADVO’s, children – access & residence, Traffic offences, Divorce and family separation, Care and protection
All appointments are made through Manning Support Services which if contacted can arrange a time with the suitable legal practice. Appointments are available every Thursday between 10.30am to 12.30pm although appointment days are booked out in advance so advice should be sought well in advance to court dates and/or issues.
The Legal Clinic is for advice only NOT representation. It is at the discretion of the solicitor if they wish to take on your case and no guarantees can be made that this will occur. This is why it is important to arrange an appointment well before representation may be needed.
